GR 201 - Beginning Greek

These Pages are provided primarily for students enrolled in the Beginning Greek Course, GR 201, given by Dr. Shirley Rollinson at Eastern New Mexico University - ENMU. They may also be used as general resource material for students taking other courses, or for anyone else interested in studying Greek.

In the Fall semester of 2012, GR 201 is being offered with an online section in addition to the class-room-based section.
It is highly recommended that, if at all possible, students should take the class-room-based section. There will be more interaction with other students, mutual encouragement, help with pronunciation and reading, and immediate feed-back from the instructor.
The online section is intended for students who are taking online degrees and are resident out-of-state or otherwise unable to come to the Portales campus. Participation in the online section will require a great deal of self-discipline, motivation, and hard work. Students wishing to register for this section should contact Dr. Rollinson to make sure that their contact information is current.

To take this Course online for credit at ENMU, you should contact the Registrar's Office at ENMU, register for GR 201 and pay the college fees. Be sure that you register for the Online Section 1WW.
You should then go to the Basics Page, follow the instructions on that Page, and use the Contact Page to set up your Course records.

If you would like to get a start on learning Greek, even before the start of the semester, there is a Preparation Page with things to do to help you get ready for the Course.

Once you have registered and completed the enrollment for the Course you may proceed to the Course Pages and start work on the Course. You should check out the Resource Pages, as they contain material which will help you to get a good grade for the Course.

If you have questions or would like to make comments, send e-mail to Dr. Rollinson at,, and
Please use all three addresses, just in case any of them go down or run into other difficulties.
If your email account allows you to make Mailing Lists, you might make a List of these addresses and use it each time you want to contact the instructor.
I know they're weird addresses, but they give big email boxes, which I need if all students send in their work at the same time.
